To promote and encourage a greater appreciation of the heritage of Hertfordshire fruit by:
Giving talks and guided walks to a variety of audiences.
Supporting and attending local outlets, Farmers Markets and County Fairs
Holding Apple Days throughout the County each October.
Producing publications and information on Hertfordshire fruit and Orchards.
Marketing collectively the Orchard produce produced by HOI members.
To conserve and maintain the remaining traditional orchards and create new ones where appropriate by:
Providing advice and training to landowners.
Enabling and supporting community and schools orchards.
Commenting on planning applications affecting existing sites and seeking opportunities to restore, enhance or create orchards as part of development proposals.
